An employee may choose COBRA benefits if eligible at termination of employment.


Notes:

  • Employees with a COBRA status are able to log into EaseCentral to enroll in COBRA benefits. 




If an employee chooses COBRA:


1.    From Employees > [employee] > Profile > Employment, change STATUS from Terminated to COBRA.



2.    Enter an EFFECTIVE DATE and REASON. 

3.    Click Save




4.    Update the employee's PAY CYCLE to Monthly.

5.    Add the COBRA effective date in the BENEFIT ELIGIBLE DATE field in the Employees > Profile > Coverage page. 



Employees will have 60 days after the BENEFIT ELIGIBLE DATE to log in and see the option to enroll.  


Once employee is logged in: 


1.    Click Start Enrollment.



2.    Select Enrolled.

3.    Choose the COBRA-eligible plan they would like to elect. 

  • Their election is auto-saved. 



 

If the terminated employee does not log in to enroll, as a Company Administrator, you are able to enter the enrollment in EaseCentral for the terminated employee.


1.    Access the employee's Benefits.

2.    Select Enrolled.

3.    Choose the plan.

4.    Click Save.
